New Shabbat Dinner Procedure

Did you know that only 34% of upperclass students without a meal plan use the free meals provided to them each week? Upperclass students without a meal plan have two free meals applied to their PUID each Monday morning.  If students do not use their free meals by the end of Sunday, they will lose them (they don't carry over).  Given the rising cost of meals and reduced budgets, we see an opportunity to reduce our overall costs by asking students to use one of the two free upperclass meals for Shabbat dinners at the CJL.

This policy will begin February 5th and will apply only to upperclass students without a meal plan.  If an upperclass student does not "opt out" of the policy, the CJL will use one of that student's weekly meals instead of paying for that student's dinner.

What do we mean by "opt out?"  If you do not wish to use one of your free meals for a Shabbat meal, please tell the dining hall checker that you will opt out of the upperclass meal donation and the CJL will pick up the cost of your meal.

We appreciate your willingness to help us reduce costs and, as a result, contribute to maintaining the quality of programs that make the CJL so successful.

I Am Domestic Violence

Sunday, Feb 21
3:30-5pm
McCosh 50

This Electrifying One-Woman Performance was created by Wambui Bahati at the request of a YWCA for "a week without violence" campaign program. After what was supposed to be a onetime event in 1998, word-of-mouth about the show quickly spread. Today, I Am Domestic Violence is still in demand for women's conferences, schools, college campuses and in-house corporate awareness programs.

Even if you aren't involved with or don't know someone who is touched by domestic abuse, come to this program so that those individuals who need to learn about domestic abuse and gain support can do so under your cover.

Co-sponsored by The United Way of Greater Mercer County, Congregation Beth Chaim, The Jewish Center, The Board of Rabbis, The Center for Jewish Life at Princeton University, SHARE Princeton University

Kehilla Dinner - Tuesday nights!

Kehilla is a social group started by students at the CJL who want to help foster a sense of community for everyone, whether you are an upperclassman, freshman, sophomore, or grad student. To help us all stay connected to one another despite our busy schedules, Kehilla invites everyone to make the CJL dining hall their venue of choice for Tuesday night dinner. We hope to see you there!

This meal is free for students with no full meal plan (either through the university or through an eating club). Students with no pre-paid meal plan anywhere, or with partial meal plans through the university or through a co-op, eat FREE provided they RSVP by noon on Tuesday to wsara@. If you've already RSVP'd to Kehilla, then no need to do so again.

Dinner is served at the CJL between 5:30 and 7:30. Please note: Kehilla is open to ALL students who would like to participate. In addition, the dining hall will be open for all students as usual.

We hope to see you there!
