Pre-Dinner Parsha Class!
Taught by Sara Wolkenfeld 6:25pm Friday in Wilf Join together with students from Yavneh, Koach, and Kesher for a short pre-dinner class exploring a theme from this week's Torah portion.
This week's topic...
It's a Sign: Black Cats, Broken Mirrors, and Other Ways (Not) to Make Decisions In this week's Torah portion, Chayei Sarah, Abraham sends his servant to find a wife for his son, Isaac. We will examine the decision-making process the servant uses to select an appropriate wife, and consider the following questions: What is the Jewish view of the role of luck or chance in the universe? When we make decisions, to what extent are we fully in control and to what extent would we prefer not to be in control - and not to even have to make the decision! Come study with us and share your thoughts!
